Fisher Price lead hazard, but only in Illinois?

http://blogs.consumerreports.org/safety/2007/12/fisher-price-pu.html

It seems that Fisher Price is withdrawing the red blood pressure cuffs from their doctor kits, but, only in Illinois. Apparently that same lead magically becomes not hazardous in other states, who knew.

So, if your kid has the fisher-price medical kit with the red blood pressure cuff, once again, you get to take a toy away from them. We’ve got one at our house so it’s blue so presumably it’s safe in Vermont or something and not a problem? I don’t know, but why does Fisher-Price hide behind the fact that it’s not illegal in other states to neglect recalling their dangerous toy in the other 98% of the states?

Fisher-Price. Not up to Mattel’s standards of producing dangerous toys, but worth watching.  Anyone want to place bets on what country they were made in?  I’ve got 50 bucks on it being China, any takers?
